How to install Lsongs on Ubuntu Feisty 7.04
man it’s been a while since i wrote anything in here ,but it’s good to be back
Lsongs is one of the best and more elegant music player i’ve ever seen for linux.
it virtually does every thing supports import and playback of MP3, M4A, Ogg, WAV, and Sun au formats. It will rip CDs to either MP3 or Ogg. It will burn CDs from MP3, Ogg, WAV and M4A.
it also has support for MP3tunes which you can purchase music from it without the DRM crap.
many people tried to get Lsongs working on Ubuntu but it the experience wasn’t that successful UNTIL Freespire 2.0 came out which is basically built on Ubuntu feisty.
1- install xine restricted formates to be able to play mp3s and stuff .. it can be install from the add/remove applications menu under ‘sound & video’
2-Edit your sources list to include Freespire’s repo
gksudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list
Add this line to the file and save
deb http://apt2.freespire.org/CNRUbuntu skipjack-feisty main restricted
3- update your sources list
sudo apt-get update
4- install Lsongs
sudo apt-get install lsongs
you might get an error due to missing gpg key .. choose to install anyway .
it’s safe to remove the freespire repo from your sources list after installing Lsongs.. enjoy:D

YES, FINALLY! THIS is the player I’ve been looking for! Simple interface, tagging, EQ - if she had a sister, I’d marry ‘em both.
Thanks a million for the easy instructions.
